Day 31--The Shortest Ride on the Longest Day

Today is the Summer Solstice--the longest day of the year, and we had the shortest ride to get to Oslo. The ride was uneventful. I don't even have any photos. We just followed the signs...mostly.

Now we are in Oslo, Norway! We are camping at Ekeberg Camping. It's a good campground close to central Oslo. Since we got to the campground at 12:45, we have unloaded the bikes and ridden into town. It was all downhill to get to the town center (which means all uphill to go back--at least we have no luggage).
All downhill from here!

This thing is the Holmankollen Ski Jump.

This is the Opera House. Everything is white--must disappear in winter!

We rode first to the train station to where Information was supposed to be. It has moved, so we rode our way through the sea of humanity (okay, we walked through the sea of humanity) to the new Tourist Info place. At the train station, they were handing out free cans of Coke. We each had one.

We saw a variety of entertainment, but my favorite was a guy sitting on a stool with a sign that said, "We not ill. We have no children. We get money to buy beer!"

We came to the National Theater.

Now we are sitting at Information which has free Wi-Fi. Not sure what we will do after this--probably just sightsee our way back up, up, up to the campground.

Total miles to Oslo: 33
