Found at City Hall. It is also the beginning of the Cascading Rivers Scenic Bikeway.
Billy is ready…Ruby almost.
Me and my adventure hija!
Of course, it didn’t make sense to cook dinner tonight when we had several food truck options. We chose the Mayan one.
Empanadas and Horchata
After stuffing ourselves, we rode to the park. I had noticed there was a shorter route than just taking the main road. It even turned to gravel! We did have to get around a gate, to get into the park itself, but it was just fine.
Gravel into the park!
Makaela!
We checked in at the entrance station. Normally, the Oregon Hiker/Biker rate is per person, but he only charged us for 1 site, so just $8! Per the usual, the H/B sites are as far as possible from the restrooms, but at least we have water and a trash can nearby.
Our campsite.
Today, it was all low hanging fruit (including actual low hanging fruit in the way of apples hanging on the apple trees at our campsite). It was an easy drive, easy parking, easy dinner access, and an easy ride to the park. Or, as they say, low hanging fruit.
Tomorrow we begin the Anaxshat Passage route. Oh, and there is another cyclist here named Cameron. Cameron is doing an overnight from Portland, heading back tomorrow.
