Morning deer!
The only thing of note was that Doug’s map came off. He had an idea where it might be, so he dropped his bags and went back.
Turns out, it wasn’t very far back, but he didn’t know that until he rode back a ways.
We stopped at the grocery store to get a few days food. Right when we pulled up, my cousin, Debbie, pulled up in her car. She was headed to play golf, and just happened to catch us. We got the lowdown on the house, then went in to wander the aisles in search of new and delicious food options. We pretty much ended up with the same stuff as usual.
At the house, we let ourselves in. Debbie and Brian have a beautiful house. There’s also a hot tub. It felt delightful! Debbie and Brian returned home, and Debbie and I spent the afternoon catching up on family stuff. My brother, Stuart, had been the ring bearer at their wedding. Debbie has done tons of cycling. It’s a shame we aren’t closer in age, we could have done some touring together!
They fixed a delicious dinner, and then we went to the Crook County Rodeo! You know that saying…It’s not my first rodeo? Well, this was my first rodeo! Here’s some photos.
Starting off with the flag. She was riding really fast!
Parachutes too!
Calf roping. Roped.
Jumps off the horse.
And ties…all in a matter of seconds!
Bareback bucking bronco!
Look at that horse jump!
Kids calf scramble. Those calves had no idea what was happening.
Team roping.
Boing!
JJ Harrison…funny guy!
Women barrel racing
The rodeo version of the Zamboni machine.
Bull riding.
Me and Debbie!
It was fun to watch, and sometimes scary! Thanks go to Debbie and Brian for taking us! This was a great day getting to get reacquainted with my cousin who I don’t even remember when I last saw her (her younger sisters were a little closer in age to me). And, a rodeo too!!!
